Welcome to my Blog!
It is somewhat a surprise to me that I haven't created a blog already. Most of my life has been filled with writing. I have written a diary my whole life, my best friend and I have written stories and poems together since I was 7 years old and I have always been in love with the English language and the amazing power of words.
I completed my degree in Sociology and English in November last year, and it was only a couple of weeks ago that I came to the shocking realisation that I haven't been writing since then. I moved straight into a full-time job after Uni, and that has been a huge adjustment for me - one that I'm still not entirely used to. The fact that I haven't been writing has only served to compound any stress and anxiety that is already present in my life. My sister suggested to me that I start a blog, as writing is what I am passionate about and is what I would love to make a career out of one day. From the moment she mentioned it, writing has once again consumed my thoughts constantly and the idea of starting a new project has made my days seem slightly less crazed and daunting as I can once again settle into a writing routine.
The title of my blog is Endless Inspiration, and the reason for that, is my great-grandmother - my Nanna Sue. A little over a year ago, when she was 96 years old, she passed away. The time that we spent together throughout my life was all about making the most of every moment. Whenever I would arrive at her house, her question was "how long can you stay?" purely because she wanted to know how much conversation we could fit in and how much news I would be able to give her about my life. We would talk about everything. As I got older and more busy, and my visits unfortunately became less frequent, we would write to each other. Her letters were full of questions, full of genuine interest in me and what I was doing, full of beautiful language and elegance and bursting with love. Nanna Sue lived on her own for the majority of her life, after her husband died in 1961 and her daughter moved out of home in 1970. She took becoming older in her stride and was truly the most amazing woman I have ever known. This blog is dedicated fully to her. She remains to be my ultimate inspiration and I still feel as if she is guiding me through the whirlwind of life, and if I can manage to leave a mark on someone's world like she has done on mine, then my mission will be complete.
So here I am, creating a space to write about anything. Music, food, books, films, random musings, dreams and disappointments - because writing is what truly encompasses who I am and what I love, and that, is what Nanna Sue would want to hear about.
